Dr. Jeffrey TAN Too Chuan is a distinguished robotics and AI researcher recognized for his pioneering work in service robotics, human–robot interaction, and cloud-based intelligent systems. He earned his Doctor of Engineering in Precision Engineering from The University of Tokyo in 2010 and currently serves as Professor at the University of Jinan (China) and Visiting Professor at City University (Malaysia). He is also a Technical Director at Lattel Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia/Singapore).
With over two decades of cross-disciplinary experience spanning Japan, China, and Malaysia, Dr. Tan has led more than 20 internationally funded projects and published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals and conferences. His research has earned him multiple international awards, including FANUC FA Robot Foundation and MAZAK Foundation Best Paper Award, and JSAI Awards.
As the founder of the RoboCup @Home Education Initiative, Dr. Tan has been instrumental in advancing AI-driven robotics education worldwide through hands-on training and global outreach. His current initiatives focus on developing AI-based robotics platforms and fostering international collaboration to address societal challenges through AI and robotics innovation.
